This is the credit card that most avid Singapore Airlines Indonesian customers have. It is almost necessary to get one if you travel a lot and collect Krisflyer Miles. Below are the great benefits that come with it and what the card is lacking.
1. Automatic monthly mile conversion
The miles you accumulate every month is automatically added to your Krisflyer account. This means that you do not have to call the bank to transfer the miles. The downside to this is that the miles will be constantly expiring because it is added to the account monthly.
2. Welcome gift of 10,000 Krisflyer miles
Some credit cards require you to spend a certain amount in order to achieve the welcome gift. For this card, there is no requirements and so you can get the 10,000 Krisflyer miles almost immediately as long as you are approved for the credit card.
3. Getting miles even for Installments
Most credit cards, such as my favorite CIMB Niaga World Card, does not convert into any miles if the purchase is converted into installments. This is where this credit card shines as they will give miles for installments and also autopay for bills.
The Not So Good
1. Average Money to Miles Conversion
For this credit card, you get a Money to Miles conversion at IDR 10.500 = 1 Krisflyer miles for domestic Purchases and IDR 8.000 = 1 Krisflyer miles for International purchases. While this is not that bad, there are other cards that offer better miles such as UOB PRVI Miles or CIMB Niaga World Card.
2. Only Krisflyer miles conversion
If you fly other airlines at times (such as domestically with Garuda), it is essential that you get another credit card that allows you to transfer to other airlines programs.
